Cardiff City’s record signing Emiliano Sala is yet to be found after plane goes missing over English Channel.

There has still been no sign of the missing plane carrying Emiliano Sala and another passenger after search teams covered over 1,000 square miles.

Cardiff City Executive Director & CEO Ken Choo released a statement on the matter stating that they ‘Continue to pray for positive news’ and that there will be ‘further statements as more information becomes available.’

Guernsey Coastguard received an alert from Jersey ATC at approximately 8.20PM. A search and rescue team had been sent out to try and find signs of the plane. However, the team had to be recalled at around 2.00AM due to poor visibility and worsening conditions.

The search restarted this morning at 8.00AM where two helicopters and lifeboats carried on the search for any sign of the lightweight aircraft Sala was on.

Guernsey Police have updated their Twitter account with updates on the search. They have stated that the decision to search overnight will be taken at sunset. As well as this they have also shown the public the area they searched.

The search has focused around the area of the Casquets lighthouse as it was reported the lightweight aircraft had gone offline around that area.

After signing on Saturday for £15m he was expected to join the squad for his first training session today. Subsequently, the training session has since been called off by Cardiff City as we learned through the Cardiff City statement that ‘Owner, Tan Sri Vincent Tan, and chairman, Mehmet Dalman, are all very distressed about the situation.’ Cardiff City Manager Neil Warnock is still yet to comment on the matter.
