The Cardiff Devils managed two home wins after defeating second place Belfast Giants in back to back games over the weekend.

The goals then started to come thick and fast, next on the score sheet was Matt Pope. This time the assists came from Sean Bentivoglio and Joey Martin.

A third goal would be wrapped up just a minute and ten seconds after the third with Bryce Reddick getting a goal for himself whilst fairly new boys Sam Dugan and Drew Schiestel got the assists.

First Period: Cardiff Devils 3-0 Belfast Giants

The Giants wouldn’t hold back in the second period and scored within three minutes. A power play goal for Kyle Baun whilst Patrick Dwyer and Jim Vandermeer grabbed the assists.

The Devils would not learn their lesson and conceded another goal on the penalty kill. Blair Riley would step up for the Giants whilst Patrick Dwyer grabbed his second assist and Curtis Leonard getting his first.

The Devils knew they would be unable to hold out the Giants and needed a goal, luckily for them that’s exactly what they got. Evan Mosey scores his first home goal for the Devils with Layne Ulmer on the assist.

After Belfast scored two power play goals the Devils had to show they could do it to. Joey Martin scores this time as the experience from Sean Bentivoglio and Layne Ulmer provided the assists.

Final Period: Cardiff Devils 5-2 Belfast Giants

Man of the Match

Mark Richardson, 800 games and a goal to mark the occasion, really solid performance all game.

The Devils have a four point weekend to celebrate and could even count it as an ‘eight point weekend’ due to them denying Belfast any points.
