CARDIFF City now have the task of taking on Leicester City in their bid to avoid relegation.

Cardiff last time out enjoyed a well earned point on the road against a Crystal Palace side who had just beaten Manchester City.

Speaking of Manchester City, that’s exactly the team Leicester just beat 2-1.

Last time the two sides met was not so long ago, in fact just last month. Leicester walked away from the Cardiff City Stadium with all three points in the bag after a 1-0 win.

However, the last time the Bluebirds travelled up to Leicester, they were the ones winning 1-0.

Cardiff will be hoping for any sort of result to maintain their position outside of the relegation zone. They currently sit 17th just 3 points above 18th Burnley.

Leicester on the other hand sit comfortably in 7th place and will push on to try and reach as high a position as they can.

Team News

Leicester; both Matty James and Daniel Amartey are still some way off returning to the squad.

Cardiff; Neil Etheridge will not be traveling with the Philippines squad for the Asian Cup.

Harry Arter and Aron Gunnarsson are likely to be fully fit and in for the squad.

There is yet to be any news on Callum Paterson, who faces a late fitness check.

Prediction

Leicester 1-1 Cardiff City

I think that Cardiff will be very pleased with their result against Palace and now will have the attitude that they can pick up points away from home.

On the other hand, Leicester also picked up a fantastic result against Manchester City. So they too will feel they can get results against any team in the league.

Whilst I think Leicester are favourites I see the points being split.

Key Players

Leicester, Marc Albrighton, scored the amazing goal to get his side level with Manchester City on Boxing Day. Will he be able to recreate it?

Cardiff, Neil Etheridge, I’m sure most Cardiff City fans were relieved to hear he would stay with us and the shot stopper has proven just how important of a role he plays at the club.
