The Devils would hold off against a strong Belfast Giants side to stay at the top of the table.

The game took a while to find its first goal. It came from the home side Belfast. Collin Shields fired home the first goal with assists from Curtis Leonard and Kendall McFaull.

Mike Hedden would grab a power play goal for the Devils later on in the first period to tie the game up. Assists from Charles Linglet and Bryce Reddick.

First Period: Cardiff Devils 1-1 Belfast Giants

The Cardiff Devils would fly out the blocks in the second period as Layne Ulmer was set up by Matt Pope and Jake Morissette to take the lead.

Second Period: Cardiff Devils 2-1 Belfast Giants

The Devils would again start quick in the third with Gleason Fournier grabbing a goal. He was assisted by Matthew Myers and James Livingston which was his first ever point as a Devil.

Belfast looked to get back into as they scored a power play goal of their own, Darcy Murphy scored as he was assisted by Blair Riley and Jim Vandermeer.

The Belfast Giants pulled their goalie to try and take the game to overtime but unfortunately for them, Sean Bentivoglio fired into the empty net and extended the Devils lead with assists from Joey Martin and Jake Morissette.

Final Period: Cardiff Devils 4-2 Belfast Giants

Man of the Match:

Ben Bowns, made 18 saves and really stopped any chance for a Belfast comeback.

The Devils will now have to do it all over again tomorrow as they play Belfast again, can they get a four point weekend?
